I’m Teacher Jen and I’m a Qkids Teacher!

Hey all! It’s official, I’m a Qkids teacher! Its been over a month since I started and so far its been a positive experience and pretty fun!

I love the Qkids platform, the super cute animations and characters—Momo Monkey and Koby Koala! The games are fun, educational and easy for the kids (and me) to understand. What’s great is the curriculum is already laid out for you and all you have to do is teach it to the kids! The flexibility and early schedule works perfect for me because I also work full-time as a preschool teacher. I get to catch a couple more hours of sleep before heading to my full-time job. And did best of all, you get to work from home, anywhere in the United States or Canada!

Here’s what I like to do to get myself ready for my classes. The day before, I review each lesson and I go through each section to familiarize myself with the games. I’ve already encountered some games that I had no idea how to teach, but I go in and review it from the training videos.

Now let’s talk about sleep! I try to go to bed early and sleep at least 3 or 4 hours. That’s all?! Yeah, that’s how I felt. Surprisingly, I didn’t feel tired or like a zombie. I have 3 alarms set in 10 minute intervals apart. I end up snoozing them, but I do this to get my body up slowly. After the 3rd alarm, I get up from 20 minutes before my first class starts. I drink water, use the bathroom, brush my hair/run my fingers through then get my classroom and equipment all set up in my living room. That’s about it! When my last class ends, I hurry and put everything away and hop back into bed for about 2 more hours of sleep and then I head off to my full-time job.

Up to now, Qkids has been fun! I love interacting with the kids from across the world! How cool is that?
