Carlsbad Flower Fields for Mother’s Day

Early May, my brother and I took our mom out for some fun to the Carlsbad Flower Fields for Mother’s Day!
We made it out just in time to see the flowers on the last day and they were still beautiful! It’s rare for us to explore San Diego, so this was a special day for us.

It was just before noon and of course, knowing it was Mother’s Day, it would be packed and it was. It didn’t take us long to find parking though. We got lucky and found parking quick. Admission was $12 and there was also a discount for seniors, whoo!

We didn’t know where to start when we entered. There were pretty flowers everywhere! We chose to look at the flower fields and also get away from the big crowds. We saw the super long line for the tractor ride and good thing we didn’t pay extra for that. Mom said it was better to walk and get exercise! And walk we did.

We walked and talked and stopped to look at the beautiful flowers. Oh, and we couldn’t forget to take lots of pictures! There were designated areas to take pictures. As a side note, if you see that an area is marked off with tape, don’t cross over it. There’s a reason why it’s there. πŸ™‚

Aside from the tractor ride, other fun things to look at were the cool bonsai trees and a mining station provided by the Carlsbad Mining Company.

My mom said she has been living in San Diego for more than 30 years and she has never been to the Carlsbad Flower Fields! This gives us more time to have fun and explore San Diego. πŸ™‚
